In reality, this game is a visual novel with brief tactical action segments to break up the very drawn-out and at times painfully dull filler dialogue.

Boringmon!

There aren't nearly enough battles in relation to the plot. You can choose to fight alone to level up the Digimon of your choice during "exploration" periods, but the game is just too simple and easy. Any battle that isn't a part of the primary plot beat isn't particularly hard or thrilling. Again, these are extremely rare, but boss battles are decent and may get you going.

The narrative is intriguing in and of itself. I will say again that each character has a great deal of individuality and growth. I realize many players won't have this issue, but I myself do. In a generation where this franchise is global, I think it is inappropriate. Dialogue that has been dubbed is not available! I adore reading subtitles because I'm an anime enthusiast. But not for my video games, please. Many are unwilling to read everything when they are seated. especially when you're continuously using the "X" button or letting the speech "auto-skip" since there is so much padding dialogue that it is intolerable to get through. This is actually slower because the following conversation line cannot be read until the voice acting is finished.

Digimon Survive looks a lot like the Devil Survivor series, even if this game isn't available on any modern platform yet. Devil Survivor features a lot going on, including turn-based battles and turn-based tactics. It makes excellent use of the recognizable combat system from the SMT series to produce difficult yet enjoyable gameplay.

Disgaea (In Any Case)

Even though the Disgaea series is quite specialized in the West, it has managed to maintain its integrity and enjoy some degree of success. Disgaea, one of the best turn-based tactics franchises in Japan, will probably be a good place to start when playing Games Like Digimon Survive On Xbox Series X. Because of the nature of the game, some of the gameplay may feel a little dated and grindy.

Into the Vulnerability

Stepping out of the anime style for a moment, Into the Breach is an ostensibly straightforward turn-based tactics game that packs a lot of depth. The gameplay reflects the fact that the game was created by the same person that created FTL: Faster Than Light. The game features brief missions with clear objectives, making it simple to pick up and play.

XCOM 2: The Chimera Unit

Speaking of, among turn-based strategy games, the XCOM series is undoubtedly excellent. While many fans may argue that XCOM: Enemy Unknown is the finest way to begin the series, Chimera Squad serves as a good introduction for players who like more tactics-based games. In terms of mechanics and pricing, Chimera Squad is a good option for new gamers.

Conclusion

I can't emphasize enough how pointlessly dull this game is. I adore the tale, the characters, and the artwork. Regretfully, I arrived expecting to play a game, but none was available. There was room for tactical and in-depth RPG components. A portion of both is given to the players. I have nothing against visual novels, but if you want to sell your game as a tactical role-playing game, then that should be the main focus instead of the visual novel features.
